MS(Microsoft, 이하 MS 또는 마소)가 Windows 10을 무료로 업데이트 제공하고, 심지어 불법SW에 관한 업데이트까지 제공한다 했을 때, 魔소 라는 점에서, '얘들이 그럴 애들이 아닌데?' 계속해서 의심을 했는데 결국, 마소는 Windows 8.1 까지 무료로 제공했던 것들을 유료로 전환하고, 연간 혹은 월간 사용료를 받는다.

이와 관련하여, 한국 MS는 사용자 패턴을 수집하여, "개인화 서비스 차원"이라는데, 다 '헛' 소리다. 엣지 브라우저나, 코타나 처럼 일부는 이해가지만(애플이나 구글도 수집한다.) MS는 도를 넘어섰고, 레노버(Lenovo)와 하는 짓이 다를 바 없어 보인다. MS에서는 "사용자 동의 없이 수집하는 경우는 없다."는데, 약관에 동의하지 않으면 설치가 안되는 마당에 이것도 '헛' 소리고 그냥 개인정보 수집 및 프라이버시 침해다.

MS가 사업 전략을 OS판매에 그치는게 아니라, 컨텐츠까지 바꾼다고 MS를 나무랄 수는 없다. MS가 싫타면 Mac OS나 Linux를 쓰면 그만이다. 만약, 어쩔 수 없이 Windows를 써야 한다면 문제가 있는데, 바로 MS의 사용자 개인정보 수집이다.
