'긁힘에 강한' 사파이어 글래스 재질로 제작된 사파이어 글래스 에디션 애플워치가, 일반 애플워치의 강화 글래스 대비 선명하게 보이질 않는다는 결과가 나왔다. 상단 첨부 이미지 처럼 (우)사파이어 글래스는, (좌)보급형 애플워치의 글래스 보다 한눈에 봐도 선명하지가 않다.
디스플레이에 관하여 권위있는 매체인 'DisplayMate'에서는 사파이어 글래스를 탑재한 애플워치의 시야각이 좁아지고, 반사율이 일반 유리 글래스 대비 2배가 넘어 흐릿하게 보인다는 문제를 제기했다.
